Heinrich and Elisabeth Schleicher
Heinrich Schleicher was born in Norka, Russia on March 22, 1850, the son of Heinrich Schleicher (1823) and Anna Elisabeth Kern (1824).
Heinrich married Elisabeth Krieger on January 30, 1873 in Norka. Elisabeth is the daughter of Johannes Krieger (1831) and Magdalena Schwindt (1835). She was born on October 5, 1852.
Heinrich and Elisabeth had at least six children in Norka. Three of the children died there.
Heinrich and Elisabeth, along with their children, immigrated to the United States in October 1889 and settled in Portland near Elisabeth's parents and siblings. Elisabeth likely died in Portland about 1895.
In 1900, Heinrich was living in East Butte, Washington County, Oregon (now Tigard, Oregon) and working as a farmer. He remarried Lydia Hallauer, who was born in Switzerland. Heinrich (Henry) appears to have three children from this marriage: Lydia, Hilda Christina, and John George (July 10, 1899).
By 1918, Henry, Lydia, and their children were living in Midvale, Idaho.
Henry died on August 29, 1919 in Midvale, Idaho. Lydia and their 5 children were listed on the 1920 census.
