Heinrich and Margaretha Repp
Heinrich Repp was born in Norka, Russia on September 7, 1852, the son of Peter Repp (born 1828) and Elisabeth Döring (born 1832).
Heinrich married Margaretha Fink on January 7, 1871 in Norka. Margaretha was born on November 11, 1849, in Norka, the daughter of Johann Adam Fink (born 1816 in Norka) and Katharina Blüm (born 1818 in Norka).
Heinrich and Margaretha were blessed with at least 8 children, all born in Norka between November 1871 and November 1889. Two children died in Norka.
In 1892, the Repp family said farewell to Norka and began their journey to North America. Heinrich, Margaretha, and seven of their children departed from Liverpool, England, on April 14, 1892, aboard the steamship Sarmatian bound for Halifax, Canada. They arrived on May 5, 1892, and traveled directly to Portland to reunite with family.
Heinrich's parents immigrated to the United States in 1886. His father died in Sutton, Nebraska, and his mother traveled to Portland with her son (Heinrich's brother) Conrad and his family in 1890. Also residing in Portland were Heinrich's siblings, Elizabeth, George, Ludwig, and Peter.
Heinrich died in Portland on January 6, 1920, and was buried at the Rose City Cemetery.
Margaretha died on June 27, 1927, and was buried at Rose City.
