John Krieger - Tinsmith
Johannes Krieger was born on August 6, 1877, in Norka, Russia, the son of Johann Heinrich Krieger (born 1839) and Catharina Elisabeth Wacker (born 1837). He was baptized by Rev. Wilhelm Stärkel.
Johannes married Christina Burbach in Norka. She was born in Norka on August 5, 1875, the daughter of Friedrich Burbach (born 1842) and Elisabeth Lehl (born 1845).
Johannes (John) and Christina, along with Christina's mother, migrated to Alberta, Canada, in 1903. By January 1909, they were living in Portland.
John operated a sheet metal and tinsmith shop, according to the 1920 and 1930 U.S. Federal Censuses. The family lived at 826 Grand Avenue. The 1921 Portland City Directory lists the shop at 698 Union Avenue North (later 3250 NE Union Avenue).
John died on June 23, 1940, and was buried at Rose City Cemetery.
